Picture number 25270 25270 160 E3 New Cross Gate Car is approaching New Cross Depot. This car was built in 1931. It exchanged its trucks for E3 Maximum Traction trucks after its original trucks were taken for use on experimental car No. 1. Like HR2s 101 to 159 it had no trolley poles as these cars were designed for Hilly routes (services 11 and 58) that were wholly on the conduit system. It was scrapped in April 1952 on Leyton E3 bogies.

Picture number 25528 25528 15/3/52 1921 E3 Holloway Reversing the car at Holloway due to an electrical problem. The trolleybus behind the car is also having som attention to the trolley poles.
E3 1921 was built in 1930 and scrapped at Penhall Road in November 1952.
